Breaks are Essential at the Office

Breaks are important at an office. This is because it is impossible for a person to continuously work for hours without a break and remain productive. It is essential that people take some form of breaks throughout the day to break up the monotony of work at the office. Not only will this rejuvenate the person, but it may also allow him or her to become more interested in the work at hand. Socialization among coworkers during breaks is a great way to encourage teamwork at the office.

Keeping a coffee machine next to the photocopiers is a great idea to try at the office. This is because apart from regular breaks, employee can take a quick coffee break while he or she is getting their photocopying done. It’s also a good idea to keep most office supplies in a storage cabinet or area rather than the desk. Getting up from one’s desk and walking to the storage area to use a stapler can serve as another form of break.

If you notice coworkers that rarely take breaks throughout the day, encourage them to stop working and join you for a cup of coffee on occasion. With time and practice, they’ll discover they’re actually much more productive if they take breaks from time to time, and that doing so actually saves them time in the long run.
