It’s also a good idea to keep most office supplies in a storage cabinet or area rather than the desk. Getting up from one’s desk and walking to the storage area to use a stapler can serve as another form of break.

If you notice coworkers that rarely take breaks throughout the day, encourage them to stop working and join you for a cup of coffee on occasion. With time and practice, they’ll discover they’re actually much more productive if they take breaks from time to time, and that doing so actually saves them time in the long run.
